Club Stalwart in Rare Air!

This round vs Northern Districts the ‘Evergreen’ Jason Riley plays his 450th game for the Stingrays, which is a phenomenal achievement considering that represents over 30 years of playing cricket at our great club, having started his career in the Under 14’s back in 1986!

Even more impressive is the fact that he has played over 120 more games than anyone else in the club’s history and being on the verge of notching up an astounding 12,000 career runs for the club he is also over 5000 runs ahead of the next best.

Despite this and the fact he’s played 128 A-Grade Games, many of which he was Captain for, and with over 3000 runs at the top level he doesn’t get the accolades he really deserves so on this special occasion I’d like to encourage everyone at the club to acknowledge his fantastic achievement and wish him all the best in his trek out to Salisbury Oval, which in itself is a fitting spot for it to unfold considering it was where the Stingrays notched their first ever win in the SACA A-Grade District Competition (as it was known then).

So all the best JR and I’m sure the boys won’t mind if you do make it ‘All About You’ again this week.

Cheers
Ifey
